Bambusa Oldhamii
"Oldham's Bamboo"

I am one of the most popular of the giant clumping bamboos, growing tall and erect with almost no arching to my culms. I have dark green leaves 1-2" wide and 5-7" long and I am very densely foliated. I thrive in the full sun and hot summers, but I can withstand winters to 15 degrees.

In the right conditions, I can grow to 55 feet tall and my culms can reach 4" in diameter. Often, I am used for privacy screens, since I am tall and dense and I do not run into the neighbor's yard! Please keep in mind that I grow quite tall, typically 25 to 40 feet in Southern California.
